Vision

Tumulus is the web3 data storage and sharing solution for people who care about data sovereignty.

A growing number of people do not want to entrust custody of their sensitive data to third parties. They are tired of their data being harvested, hacked, or lost. What they do want is data sovereignty –supreme authority over their own data – how and where it is stored and how and with whom it is shared. Just as holders of crypto are willing to take responsibility for the custody of their own money, so people who value data sovereignty are willing to take on the responsibility for the custody of their own data.

What these people need is a way to store and share their data that is consistent with their values – and that is what Tumulus is.

Tumulus provides secure, self-sovereign data storage: 

• Data is stored via Filecoin on IPFS
• Data remains in the sole custody of the user
• Encrypted, tamper-proof, redundant

Tumulus provides programmable, permissioned sharing:

• Data is shared via smart contracts on-chain
• Reduced dependence on intermediaries
• Immutable transactions
• Owner can easily create their own authorizations and workflows

We envision Tumulus becoming a foundational building block of the web3 ecosystem, providing not only data storage and sharing but other core web3 functionality as well.
